PrOP - Predictive Optimal Control of energy-intensive Production

duration

15.06.2018 – 31.01.2022

project description

The aim of the project PrOP - Predictive Optimal Control of energy-intensive Production is the energy- and resource-optimized handling of energy-intensive production processes. The current state of the art shows a large innovation gap in the optimization of such processes. This is because the internal dependencies of the process as well as the influence of many process variables on the quality characteristics of the product and on the economic results of the production are generally unknown.

Therefore, the project PrOP will develop new methods for the analysis and modelling of the relationship between actuating value and plant output as well as qualify predictive optimal control methods as recommendation systems for complex production processes. The implementation is carried out exemplarily on a green sand casting system of the cooperation partner Meierguss with the support of the high technology company IAV and the plant manufacturer KÜNKEL WAGNER.
